Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) Compared: GEYA G2R vs EARU vs DIN-Rail vs Autoro AB18

Short answer: For an AC panel with a generator as backup, choose by current and poles. The GEYA G2R (from $57.27) covers 63 A in 2P or 4P at 110 V or 220 V. The EARU dual power ATS (from $83.93) and the DIN-rail ATS (from $93.94) go up to 100 A, and the DIN-rail ATS is also offered in 3P. For a DC system (12–60 V, for example a battery and an adapter), the Autoro AB18 ($49.82) is the only DC option here. All data below comes from the product listings.

Questions and answers

2P, 3P or 4P: which one do I need?

Match the poles to the circuit you switch. A single-phase circuit (line and neutral) uses 2P. A three-phase circuit switched together with the neutral uses 4P, and without the neutral uses 3P. Of these four, only the DIN-rail ATS is offered in 3P.

Can I use these with a generator at a well site or a pump station?

The three AC models are listed for a main supply plus a standby source such as a generator. Size the ATS above the full-load current of the circuit, and check the generator’s output voltage against the version you order (110 V or 220 V).

Can I switch DC battery backup with the AC models?

No. The GEYA, EARU and DIN-rail models are AC devices. For DC systems between 12 and 60 V up to 18 A, use the Autoro AB18.

Are they certified for hazardous areas?

No hazardous-area certificate is included with any of these listings. Install them in a safe-area panel, and confirm any certification your site requires before you order.
