QDW90A vs YB-2088 Pressure Transmitter: Specs Compared

Short answer: Choose the QDW90A G1/2 pressure transmitter (from $62.99) when you need a lower-cost 4-20 mA, 0-10 V or RS485 signal and the reading is shown on your PLC or HMI. Choose the YB-2088 (from $204.99) when you also want a local LED display at the measuring point or a different process thread (G1/4, G1/2, M20x1.5, NPT1/4 or NPT1/2). The specs below are taken from the two product listings.

Questions and answers

Which one should I use with a PLC analog input?

Both offer a 4-20 mA output, which is the usual choice for a PLC analog input. The QDW90A also offers 0-10 V if your input card is voltage-only. If you need Modbus over serial, both offer an RS485 version.

Can I use the YB-2088 in a hazardous area?

Not on the strength of this listing alone. The supplier describes the housing as explosion-proof, but no ATEX, IECEx or Class/Division certificate comes with it. Confirm that any device meets your site’s classification before you install it in a hazardous area.

My fitting is NPT, not G (BSPP). Which one fits?

The YB-2088 is offered with NPT1/4 or NPT1/2. The QDW90A is G1/2 only, so an NPT port needs a suitable adapter. G and NPT threads are not interchangeable.

How do I pick the range?

Pick a range above your maximum working pressure, so normal readings sit in the middle part of the scale rather than at the top. Both listings let you choose the range as a variant.
